An antique American Cocoa and Chocolate wooden box by Walter Baker and Co. Circa the late 19th to early 20th century. This wooden box has a bronze plate nailed to the top which reads Educational Exhibit, Cocoa and Chocolate: Prepared by Walter Baker and Co. Ltd. Dorchester, Mass. Walter Baker and Co. started producing these exhibits as early as 1886 with several different runs in the years that followed. They produced these boxes as an educational aide for teachers who wanted to discuss the transformation of cacao beans into chocolate bars and cocoa powder.
