A black-and-white photograph by Georgy Zelma, 1906 to 1984, a Soviet photographer and photojournalist. The piece depicts a large oriental carpet on museum display. Artists stamp and pencil marks on the backside. Lifetime print, dated 1984. Titled The Biggest Carpet in the World, Turkmen SSR on the backside. Zelma worked for Izvestia, Ogonyok and Krasnaya Zvezda magazines in the 1920s and 1930s and was a war correspondent on the battlefields of the Second World War. A large collection of his artworks is now at MoMA, New York. Soviet Historical Memorabilia, Photography.
