A vintage Russian decorative porcelain plate with a portrait of a Space Pilot Valentina Tereshkova. Circa 1960s. The plate has a white raised edge with a gilded border. On the backside is the painters name and inventory number. Valentina Vladimirovna Tereshkova, born 1937 USSR pilot cosmonaut, the worlds first female cosmonaut, Hero of the Soviet Union, major general. Full Cavalier of the Order For Merit to the Fatherland.
