A pair of antique Japanese Satsuma pottery vases. The vases are of an ovoid form, hand painted with traditional scenes depicting noble ladies and children in a mountain river landscape, beautifully accented with gilding. The bases and the necks of the vases are adorned with gilded floral and foliage ornaments on the cobalt blue ground. Marked with a gilt or red ink mark, on the bottom. Circa: late 19th century.
