An antique late 19th century French sword bayonet designed for the 11 mm M1866 Chassepot needle fire rifle or the M1874 Gras rifle. Dated circa 1867. Slightly curved blade, ribbed grip, crossguard is marked. Presumably produced by the French State Arsenal, Manufacture Imperiale de Tulle. The item comes with a matching scabbard.
