Lot 0247: ANCIENT ROMAN TERRACOTTA AND GLAZED CLAY ITEMS

41 reviews

A lot of three ancient Roman terracotta items. An ancient Roman period terracotta jar, featuring a narrow neck and two curved handles. The jar is adorned with decorative rims around its surface, showcasing the skilled artistry and attention to detail characteristic of Roman pottery. An ancient Roman terracotta pilgrim flask, circa 100 to 300 AD. Flask with a squat, flattened body, lentoid shape, and a short neck, flanked by a pair of loop handles protruding from both sides. Pilgrim flask was used by pilgrims and travelers in the Middle East to carry drinking water. A Roman glazed clay bowl adorned with blue painted rim. The side loops may have helped to hang the vessel on the pilgrims shoulder. Ancient Roman Jar And Pottery Collectibles.
