A Central African hand carved wooden mask of the Bateke Tsaayi people from Gabon or Congo. It features a flat, square shape with rounded edges. The abstracted mask is colored and enhanced with symbols of Tsaayi beliefs. Masks like these were used in the rituals of Kidumu, the male association, to express their social and religious values.
