An antique late 19th-century Russian Orthodox icon representing Stachys the Apostle, the second bishop of Byzantium. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. Silver riza or oklad with blue and green cloisonne enamel decor. Hallmark of 84 silver standard and makers marks are on the rim. The icon is enclosed in a wooden kiot framing.
