Marvin Israel, American, 1924 to 1985, mixed media, acrylic and pastel, on paper painting depicting a figurative scene with a human figure lying on a bed with an iron headboard, 1968. Framed. A paper label of the Cordier and Ekstrom Gallery, on the backside. Marvin Israel was an American artist, photographer, painter, teacher and art director from New York City known for modern/surreal interiors, abstract imagery. Israel created sinister shadowy and exuberant interiors with implications of violence that were often sexual in nature. One of a kind artwork.
