An antique early Islamic Persian Nishapur glazed pottery bowl. The footed bowl is covered with glaze in brown, and beige shades; and decorated with a geometrical ornament, and Kufic calligraphy, inside. Rich tones. Nishapur was one of the great centers of pottery and related arts during the Islamic Golden Age, especially the 9th and 10th centuries. The iconic products of this region was ceramic ware with the Kufic script, the text often contained a proverb in Arabic or a series of blessings. Circa: 10th century to early 12th century.
