An antique lithographic advertising poster designed by Thor Bogelund Jensen, Danish, 1890 to 1959 for the Tivoli garden. Against the background of Tivoli Park, a portrait of Georg Carstensen is surrounded by children with garlands of flowers. Published by Andreasen and Lachmann, 1918. Signed and dated in the print, lower right. Johan Bernhard Georg Carstensen, 1812 to 1857, was one of the developers of Tivoli Gardens and a Danish army officer. Thor Bogelund Jensen, 1890 to 1959, was a Danish artist who worked primarily with posters. In Denmark he became the pioneer of poster art as a commercial art.
