A vintage bronze sculpture depicting a mother feeding a baby after the original sculpture, Maternity, 1916, by Pierre Auguste Renoir, French, 1841 to 1919. Mounted on a figural base. Signed with a cast signature, Renoir, on the backside of the base. Pierre Auguste Renoir was a French artist who was a leading painter in the development of the Impressionist style. As a celebrator of beauty and especially feminine sensuality, it has been said that Renoir is the final representative of a tradition which runs directly from Rubens to Watteau.
