Andre Gisson, or Anders Gittelson, 1921 to 2003, French, American. A color lithograph on paper. It depicts a portrait of a girl in a red hat, signed lower right and numbered 17 of 275 left. Framed by a wooden gilt frame. Bears an attached Societe de Verification de la Nouvelle Gravure Intenationale of New York and Paris certificate of authenticity and an article about the artist attached to the backside. Gisson is an American impressionist artist known for his landscapes, still lifes, portraits, and figurative works. Deciding to enhance his reputation, he claimed that he was French and was born earlier, in 1910, in order to be more closely associated with the founders of Impressionism, which he was passionate about.
