41 reviews

Mikhail Fyodorovich Larionov, Russian, 1881 to 1964. Mixed media on paper painting depicting an abstract composition, 1913. Signed with initials and dated lower left. Provenance: an ink stamp of The Collection of Yakov Rubinstein Moscow, on the back side. Mikhail Larionov was one of the most prominent Russian avant garde artists of the early 20th century. As an artist, Larionov began with impressionist landscapes and still lifes. In 1906 he was inspired by the works of Van Gogh, Cezanne and Gauguin, after which a close acquaintance with European painting made him not a follower, but an innovator. Many of his works are in the Tretyakov Gallery. Russian Fine Art, Abstract Acrylic and Oil Paintings, Wall Art, and Collectibles.
