Lawren Stewart Harris, Canadian, 1885 to 1970, oil painting on board, Algonquin Park landscape. Circa: 1918 to 1920. Signed lower left. Additionally inscribed on a paper label, on the backside. Provenance: aquired by Dr. James Macallum. Lawren Stewart Harris was a Canadian painter, best known as one of the founding members of the Group of Seven. He played a key role as a catalyst in Canadian art, as a visionary in Canadian landscape art and in the development of modern art in Canada.
