Edited by I. Gorbunov Posadov. Hardcover. Printing house of the I.D. Sytin, Moscow, 1902. Harriet Elisabeth Beecher Stowe, 1811 to 1896, was an American author and abolitionist. She came from the religious Beecher family and wrote the popular novel Uncle Toms Cabin, 1852, which depicts the harsh conditions experienced by enslaved African Americans.
