Attributed to Vu Cao Dam, Vietnamese, 1908 to 2000, oil painting on canvas depicting a scene with a couple, a lady playing a musial instrument and a seated man, 1969. Signed in Latin, and dated, lower right. Framed. An original paper label of Wally Findlay Galleries, on the backside. Vu Cao Dam is known for modernist figure, landscape and portrait bust sculpture. In 1932, he obtained a scholarship to further his studies as a sculptor in France. His painting during this period was mainly on silk, and showed the influence of ancient Chinese art.
