The American Express double sided gas station metal sign dates back to 1958, the same year when American Express credit cards were first introduced, and this sign was first used by American Express. In the form of a shield, it features an image of a Roman warrior in an oval frame in the center and holds the following lettering AMERICAN EXPRESS CREDIT CARDS on the yellow and black background.
