A vintage hand painted Italian carnival Plague Doctor mask. Mask of the Plague Doctor is a character from the Italian Comedy Del Arte and a historical representative of the profession that treated bubonic plague in Europe in the Middle Ages. The mask is made in the form of a human face with a birds beak. On one side of the mask, there is an inscription in Italian. On the other side of the mask is a full length image of the Plague Doctor.
