An antique Indo Persian Kalamkari round shaped linen cotton textile wall hanging. The textile is adorned with traditional hand painted floral, foliage, and paisley ornaments surrounded by medallions with Islamic calligraphy, and floral and foliage motifs on the borders. The backside is decorated with floral, and polka dot patterns on the purple ground. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century. Kalamkari or chitsazi is the Iranian art of applying designs to fabric; carried out both manually and using special printing stamps.
