A watercolor painting on paper depicting an Exotic portrait of a lady holding a basket with fruits in her head surrounded by a symmetrical ornamental frame by Lev or Leon Samoilovich Bakst, Russian, 1866 to 1924. Signed, Bakst, lower left. Framed. Lev Bakst, an artist, set designer, illustrator and designer, worked mainly in St. Petersburg and Paris, one of the trendsetters of European fashion for exoticism and orientalism at the beginning of the 20th century.
