Ink on paper painting, a sketch for a magazine cartoon. The piece depicts soldiers practicing shooting at targets. Signed by the artist in the lower left, Willmarth. Artists notes in graphite and blue pencil on the margins. Unframed. Liberty magazine stamp on the backside, Issue June 19, 1943, page 69. Liberty was an American weekly general-interest magazine published from 1924 to 1950. Illustration contributors included James Montgomery Flagg, Walt Disney, Dr. Seuss, Leslie Thrasher. Collectible Graphic Art, Americana.
