A large and beautiful Russian silver gilt Easter egg case decorated with a floral pattern made using the cloisonne enamel technique and also features images of 4 double headed eagles, which is the Russian Royal coat of arms. The eagles are set with gem stone cabochons, most likely amethysts, in their chests. There is also a green cabochon cut gem stone on top in the center of the egg, surrounded by a beautiful round cloisonne enamel pattern. The egg opens on a hinge in the center, revealing a hidden gold plated compartment for storing trinkets or jewelry. The egg is also mounted on a beautiful gilded stand in the form of 3 lion legs with the wings. The stand is hallmarked with an 84 Russian silver standard.
