Oil on canvas painting attributed to Manjit Bawa, 1941 to 2008, an Indian painter, student of Somnath Hore. Bawa is known for his distinctive use of color. The artwork depicts a goat and dove against the green background. Signed and dated 1998 on the backside. Livestock such as cows, goats and bulls are an important subject for the artist, embodying the theme of the coexistence of all creatures. In Hinduism, doves are referred to as the symbol that defines the presence of God. Collectible Contemporary Fine Art, Southeast Asian Artists.
