A West African Liberian Dan hand carved wood figure. The figure depicts a maternity female figure with an elongated torso with a convex belly and navel, a cone shaped breast, and strong bent legs. The body is engraved with various ornaments. Headdress is organized in braided shells. The Dan are a Mande ethnic group from northwestern Ivory Coast and neighboring Liberia.
