An antique Japanese, late Meiji era, Kyoto School covered enamel over copper jar. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century. The sphere form body is enameled with a polychrome Phoenix bird design surrounded by floral, foliage, and swirl motifs made in the Cloisonne technique. The base and the neck are adorned with polychrome floral, foliage, and geometrical patterns made in the same technique. A cover is adorned in the same design. Unmarked.
