A finely painted KPM Berlin porcelain plaque depicting Boys Eating Grapes and Melon after Murillo. Housed in an elaborate original period wooden frame with a paper label at the back, Hermann Schaus successeur de William Schuas Tableaux modernes 204 Fifth Avenue. Circa 1860. Genre subjects of Murillo experienced a huge revival in the 19th century when they were copied in lithographs and also on KPM porcelain plaques. The Konigliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin, or KPM, was one of the most influential porcelain factories in 18th-century Germany, and it still operates today. KPM is revered for its porcelain plaques depicting historical scenes or copies of famous paintings.
