Oil on board painting by Eugeniusz Eibisch, Polish, 1896 to 1987. Circa the mid-20th century. The artwork represents an autumn forest panorama. Signed by the artist in the lower right. Golden frame. Eugeniusz Eibisch was a Polish painter and educator. In the years 1912 to 1920 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under the direction of Jacek Malczewski And Wojciech Weiss. Later he moved to Paris where he exhibited his paintings in salons and galleries enjoying the appreciation of the critique and the friendship of Georges Braque, Louis Marcoussis, Soutine and Waclaw Borowski among other artists. He returned to Poland in 1939 in order to take the chair in the Painting Department at the Cracow Academy. In 1950 he was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. The subjects of Eibischs paintings were landscapes, still life, and portraits mostly feminine. In his later works colors successively take the place of form until his paintings become almost abstract coloristic compositions. Collectible Figurative Fine Art, Nature Landscape.
