A Russian ormolu mounted and brass inlaid mahogany letter box, circa the late 18th or early 19th century. With a drop leaf revealing a large cavity, and a small drawer, with a pivoting element on the lid. The lid is adorned with gilt bronze medallion with an effigy of Peter the Great on a green guilloche enamel ground and crossed weapons behind.
