The obverse depicts Herakles, the greatest hero of the Greeks, The reverse depicts Zeus, wearing a crown and shown to be muscular, covering the lower part of his body. He sits on a decorated throne, holding a scepter in his hands, which symbolizes the power and authority of the god, and Alexander as well.
