A Russian letter opener with a gilt silver blade decorated with chiseled elephant overlay on both sides. The handle is covered with blue enamel over a wavy guilloche ground. The top is set with a large round cabochon cut dark blue amethyst stone. Hallmarked with an 88 Imperial Russian silver standard and other Russian hallmarks.
