An antique Japanese footed and enameled jewelry or trinket box from the from the Meiji Period with a hinged lid. Circa 19th century. The exterior of the rectangular box is enameled with polychrome floral, foliage, geometrical, and scrollwork patterns made in the Cloisonne technique. The colorful pattern is laid onto a gilt bronze box, which is raised on elegant bracket feet. The top part depicts a colorful floral landscape with flowers and a dragonfly.
