A beautiful antique Sevres porcelain and bronze vase has an elongated neck with a bulbous body. The neck of the vase is decorated with hand painted scenes of a man in a garden setting, and on the other side there is a landscape scene with a castle. Both sides are decorated with gilded stylized foliage and flowers. The base of the vase features a reticulated bronze foot. This particular piece is from the Chateau de Tuileries collection and is distinguished by a red seal topped with a crown, bearing the mark of 1846. The red mark indicates that the vase was made for placement in the imperial residence of the Tuileries in Paris, which since the time of Louis XIV was the main residence of all subsequent French monarchs.
