Jirokichi Kasagi, 1870 to 1923, an antique Japanese watercolor on silk painting depicting a young Japanese lady wearing a beautiful traditional attire, holding a parasol in one hand and a fan in another. Signed by the artist lower right. Framed. Jirokichi Kasagi was a Japanese watercolourist, born in Kanazawa in 1870. Kasagi was an author of genre, peasant and hunting scenes. Kasagi trained in drawing technique in Yokohama under the direction of Horyu Goseda before settling in Europe. Most of Kasagis works that remained in Japan were destroyed during the Second World War except for a few that remain in Mitsumasa Takanos collection. One of a kind artwork.
