An antique Japanese, early Meiji era, enamel over gilt copper covered jar. The exterior of the jar is adorned with polychrome enamel medallions representing Phoenix birds, and flowers made in the Cloisonne technique. The neck and the cover are decorated with floral and foliage motifs made in the same technique. The ware is inlaid with Gold stones. Circa: 1868 to 1877.
