A large Japanese covered enamel over copper vase. The vase has an urn shaped body and a wide neck with a fluted mouth. The exterior of the vase is enameled with polychrome medallions depicting a butterfly in blossoming flowers and a mountain river landscape scene with a boat surrounded by dragon, cloud, floral, and fan motifs made in the Cloisonne technique. The neck is adorned with floral, and foliate scroll ornaments made in the same technique. The cover features polychrome enamel cloud, floral, and foliage patterns made in the same technique and decortaed with a sphere shaped finial. Unmarked. Circa: the first half of the 20th century.
