A Modern Mexican Taxco hand made Sterling Silver cufflinks designed by Stella Popowski for Los Castillo. The cufflinks are made in an Ethnic face design, inlaid with Onyx and Malachite stones. Marked with a Popowski mark, a Sterling Silver standard hallmark, and two Mexican marks, on the backside. Stella Popowski, 1931 to 2008, was a prolific painter as well as a well respected jewelry designer. In the USA she was mainly active in Los Angeles California and Berkeley and San Francisco California. She also played a big part in the modernist jewelry movement in Taxco Mexico. She worked and designed for Antonio Pineda and Los Castillo. Her jewelry and other works of art are in private collections world wide. Total weight: 18 g.
