An antique 19th-century Russian Orthodox icon depicting Jesus Christ in the Pantocrator iconography, known in the Western Christianity as Christ in Majesty. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. The icon is enclosed in a gilt riza or oklad, a protecting case with repousse work. Titled in Church Slavonic in the bottom middle. Unmarked. Russian Icon Painting, Orthodox Religious Items and Collectibles.
