A French cast bronze sculpture, The Charity, after Jean Louis Gregoire, French, 1840 to 1890. Cast with beautiful details and covered with deep brown patina. Mounted on a rectangular shaped base. Signed with casting to the base: L. Gregoire. Jean Louis Gregoire was born and died in Paris. Training under Jean Salmson at the Ecole des Beaux Arts, he exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1867 and became one of the first Associates of the Artistes Francais.
