A vintage Neoclassical patinated bronze sculpture, Sappho, after Jean Jacques James Pradier, French, 1790 to 1852. Mounted on a wooden base. Inscribed, J. Pradier, and marked, Susse Freres edition, on the sculpture. Jean Jacques Pradier was a Swiss born French sculptor best known for his work in the neoclassical style. Jean Pradier is known for Neo classical mythology themed sculpture. Sappho is an ancient Greek poetess and musician, author of monodic melika song lyrics.
