An ancient figure is the primary form of portable sculpture in the Taino culture of the Greater Antilles. Known as Zemi idol or trigonolitho and dated approximately 13th to 15th century. Were used as stands, reliquaries or personal decorations and had a sacred concept and connection with the spiritual and often depicts a deity figure. The figures were made from stone, shell, wood, bone, and man had many versions of them, each valued for the power it was believed to impart. It has large eyebrows surrounded by an interlocking, raised stripe. The mouth is marked by a narrow groove running above the point of constriction.
