An antique Russian Orthodox hand painted icon of Christ Pantocrator, the Lord Almighty, or Savior Jesus Christ. The icon depicts Christ holding the New Testament in his left hand and making the gesture of teaching or of blessing with his right. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. The icon is overlaid with an 84 gilt Silver oklad or riza, adorned with chased and engraved detailed patterns. Titled in Church Slavonic, upper and to the center right and left. Marked with a Russian Silver standard hallmark, and other marks. Circa: mid to the late 19th century. An embroidered cross is on the backside. The icon of Jesus Christ the Almighty is one of the central images of the Christian iconography of the Savior.
