An antique Christian Orthodox hand painted icon of Mary Theotokos with Jesus. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. The icon is overlaid with a gilded oklad or riza, adorned with chased and engraved detailed patterns. Circa: mid to the late 19th century.
