Lot 0778: LOT OF WWII ERA JAPANESE HAND MADE DOLLS IN CASE

41 reviews

A lot of two Japanese dolls, handmade in a factory during World War II. Material: porcelain, silk, brocade, Japanese paper. A very elegant Japanese doll depicts a young aristocrat from Kyoto wearing a very expensive kimono and a luxurious uchikake made of orange brocade with gold patterns, which the lady pulled down from both shoulders and tied with a black obi belt. Her elaborate Kyoto manner hairstyle is decorated with gold cord. The second doll is a Noh doll, a traditional Japanese art and also it has been winning general applause as a grace of performing art. The costume of the Noh Doll keeps the strict standards like the actual performers and is crafted by embodying the authenticity and beauty of the Noh play. The doll wears a carefully crafted kimono adorned with intricate patterns typical of traditional Japanese clothing. The doll is decorated with a majestic traditional gilded headdress with a bird on the top. Presented in a glass and wooden case. WWII era Asian Japanese Dolls, Traditional Costumes, Memorabilia, and Collectibles.
