An antique late 19th century rare Russian lacquered hand painted wooden trinket box with a hinged lid. Black body, silver interior. The lid depicts a winter scene with a horse carriage, Troika. Traces of stamps on the inner side of the lid, Vishnyakov manufacture in Zhostovo. Zhostovo is a village in Moscow Oblast, a well known center of lacquer miniature art and painting on metal trays.
