An antique Chinese brass opium lamp. Qing era, 19th century. Hexagonal footed piece. The body is garnished with etched multi-figure scenes. Pierced top rim. Clear glass shade. An opium lamp is an oil lamp designed specifically to facilitate the vaporization and inhalation of opium. Opium lamps were crafted mainly in China before the communist revolution in 1949.
