A large Chinese hand carved Shoushan stone sculpture of flying goddess. The sculpture represents a multilayered composition with flying goddess holding a basket with flowers in hands, engraved with detailed patterns. Circa: the first half of the 20th century. Completed with a footed hand carved wooden stand. Shoushan stone carving is an art originating in Fujian Province in East China. The stones used in carving are also known as agalmatolite and are mined in the Shoushan village in northern Fujian.
