A vintage Chinese hand carved from Shoushan stone sculpture. The sculpture represents a couple of a monkey and a baby monkey, surrounded by bud flowers, engraved with detailed patterns and pierced through elements. Circa: the first half of the 20th century. Completed with a footed hand carved wooden stand. Shoushan stone carving is an art originating in Fujian Province in East China. The stones used in carving are also known as agalmatolite and are mined in the Shoushan village in northern Fujian.
