Jean-Louis Gregoire, French, 1840 to 1890, a cast bronze figure depicting a Peasant Couple. Cast with beautiful details and covered with deep brown patina. Signed to the base: L. Gregoire. Mounted on a round rouge marble pedestal. Jean-Louis Gregoire was born and died in Paris. Training under Jean Salmson at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, he exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1867 and became one of the first Associates of the Artistes Francais.
