A World War I type Austria-Hungarian navy officers dagger. Straight double-edged blade with etched ornaments and gilt coat of arms. Etched inscription KuK Marine Cattaro and 1916 on the reverse of the blade. Crest mark on the ricasse. White grip with twisted wire decor, figurative crossguard and finial with naval decor. Scabbard with embossed ornaments and two suspension rings. Cattaro, or Kotor, a town in modern Montenegro, was the southernmost base in the Adriatic of the Austrian Kriegsmarine.
